Traxim Train Graph Viewer - User Guide

Navigation Controls

• Left click + drag: Pan the view
• Mouse wheel click + drag: Rotate the view
• Mouse wheel: Zoom in/out

Loading Data

Use the file selector dropdown (top right) to choose a data file from the server, or select "📁 Local File..." to load a file from your computer.

Regions

Check/uncheck regions in the left sidebar to show/hide them. Click "Update Regions" to apply changes.

• Direction arrows (↑/↓): Toggle the direction of each region
• Drag handle (☰): Reorder regions by dragging

Live Mode

Enable Live Mode to automatically refresh data every 2 minutes. Your region selections and directions will be preserved across updates.

Display Options

• Show Train Name Labels: Toggle train ID labels on/off
• Hide Train Histories: Toggle the display of historical train positions (past ~2 hours). Train histories are shown with dimmed colors and thicker lines to distinguish them from future projections
• Toggle Occupations: Show/hide occupation rectangles
• Recenter: Reset the camera to default position

Train Path Overlays

Hover over any train to see its path displayed in an overlay panel on the right side of the screen.

• Overview Mode: Shows the entire train path as a vertical strip map. The path is straightened and rotated to run vertically, with network links shown in gray and path segments highlighted in green. Node glyphs show the track configuration at each network node.
• Detail Mode: Shows a geographically accurate view centered on the hovered network node. The view extends the distance specified by the Detail Range slider in all directions.
• Switch Modes: Click the "Overview" or "Detail View" button at the top of the overlay to toggle between modes

Path Overlay Controls:

• Detail Range: Sets the distance (in km) around the hovered node shown in Detail View
• Node Length: Controls the size of node glyphs along the track direction
• Node Width: Controls the lateral size of node glyphs (diverging branches)

Path node labels are automatically positioned to avoid overlapping with nodes, links, and other labels for clear visibility.

Settings

• Zoom Speed: Adjust how fast zooming responds
• Region Gap: Control spacing between stacked regions

⏱️ Performance Note

Please be patient: Due to the large amount of data being processed, changes (such as loading files, updating regions, or toggling occupations) may take a few seconds to complete. The viewer will respond once processing is finished.
